Capacity Development

The IMF offers many training opportunities for government officials: including online learning, microlearning, and training at its regional training centers. Online courses and microlearning are free of charge and in many cases also available to the general public. Regional classroom training for CCAMTAC member countries will continue to be provided at IMF headquarters, the Joint Vienna Institute (JVI), and the Singapore Training Institute (STI).  The China IMF Capacity Development Center (CICDC) offers a few courses with a number of participants from selected Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. and the Georgia Training Program also offers a few courses per year. Online Learning

The IMF online learning program offered in cooperation with edx is helping increase the accessibility of IMF expertise to broader audiences for free, To quickly find an online course here. Training for China and selected BRI countries

CICDC The China-IMF Capacity Development Center (CICDC) is a collaborative venture between the IMF and the People’s Bank of China. The aim of the CICDC is to help build strong economic institutions and foster human capacity development in the IMF’s core areas of expertise, in China and in countries associated with the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

 

Regional Classroom (Virtual) Training for CCA countries

The Joint Vienna Institute (JVI) provides policy-oriented training primarily to participants from countries in Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. The JVI offers courses in economics, financial sector analysis and management, trade policy, corporate governance, and related topics for public officials and selected private sector executives. Regional Training (Asia)

The IMF – Singapore Regional Training Institute (STI), located in Singapore, serves as the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) regional training center for the Asia-Pacific region. It provides training on macroeconomic and financial management, and related legal and statistical issues, to government officials from 37 countries. Most training takes place in two week seminars, with shorter events organized for senior officials.
