The webinar focused on the innovative Quarterly Macroeconomic Forecasting Framework (QMFF), which aims to enhance economic forecasting and policy analysis. The core of the framework consists of behavioral equations specified in terms of deviations of real variables from their long-run trends. It is a novel combination of a gap-based modeling approach and financial programing. It has the flexibility to be adjusted to accommodate the macroeconomic characteristics of various countries and different exchange rate regimes, as well as to incorporate backward- or forward-looking expectation formation. Armenia has recently introduced significant changes to its monetary policy framework. In 2024 the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) adopted a risk management approach to price stability, known as FPAS Mark II. This new framework replaced the traditional baseline scenario with scenario analysis for decision-making and communication. The CBA conducts monetary policy within a risk management framework to analyze and communicate the uncertainty surrounding the economic outlook more effectively. One of the core responsibilities of the Fund is to monitor economic and financial policies of member countries and provide policy advice as part of its surveillance activity. Therefore, the data provided by country authorities to the Fund plays a pivotal role in the dialogue of between the authorities and the Fund.
